    Backing up on Kubuntu

Hi all. I just wanted to know if there is a way to back up my hard drive on Kubuntu. I have been using Keep System Backup. What i am trying to do is back up everything and re-install Kubuntu Edgy. Is there any program that you could recommend that can backup my system so when I do a re-install all i have to do is just copy over my config files.

I am still new to Kubuntu so any help would be good.

    Thanks in advance

Although not (primarily) linking to a "program", from these notes you may learn about some tools available "out of the box", which, albeit looking rather primitive, have proven reliable for decades (due to being part of the UNIX legacy, so to speak).

Create a separate /home partition. The /home folder is where all your config files live.
