    Mobiles and Kubuntu

I'm looking at getting a new phone (one with bluetooth) and I was just wondering what peoples experiences where in terms of interacting with linux. Are some brands better supported than others?

The main thing I'm interested in are sharing address books between my phone and kubuntu. Also would like to use the mobile as a handset for skype running on the computer if possible. I'm also wondering about transferring files to and from the micro SD in the phone.

In my experience, Nokia's mobile phones are usually well supported in Linux.

      Re: Mobiles and Kubuntu

Just thought I'd make an addition to this post detailing my experiences so far for anyone trying to find out this stuff and stumbling upon this thread. I got a Nokia 6133 and I have been able, using kbluetoothd, to transfer files between the phone and kubuntu (pics and music). I have not yet found a way of synching address books however I am able to back up a copy of the phones address book to the computer (which can later be copied back to the phone). Also my computer does not detect the phone (even though I had the phone set to visible to all). I can however find the computer using the phone and after this the computer can see the phone and everything works from there. I found the following to be useful info for connecting phone and kubuntu for the first time
