    Japanese (and CJK) input...

I am a computer user. Not a programmer.

I drive a car very well but do not know how to design cars. I do not want to re-invent the wheel, so to speak.

I am trying to enable Japanese input in Kubuntu (Edgy) but am having an awful time trying. There are lots of snippets of do this, do that, edit this file, sudo this, make/install that...

But the long and short is this...

    It doesn't work.

I don't want to have to learn how to program in linux to be able to activate Japanese input in a Canadian English locale Kubuntu install.

Can someone show me how? The right way... The "easy" way (from a "driver's" perspective rather than from a programmer's perspective.

If so, I will write documentation to teach people how to do it, so that people don't have to learn to become programmers just to activate Japanese input.

Thanks for any help you can give. I am getting severely frustrated with this.

    Sincerely,

    Dulwithe, TDS.
