Christmas compatible KDE Themes, Xsnow not running

    Hi everybody.

Now that the days get shorter (in Europe at least) and there are little blinking lights everywhere I felt the strong need for a Christmas compatible KDE Desktop.

One of the few suitable gadgets I could find was Xsnow. But I can't get it to work properly. I tried to tell KDE to run Xsnow as Desktop background. But it doesn't snow/show. Only when I remove it from the Background Program menu and close the Desktop Background dialogue it will show for a few seconds... What's the trick? Somebody got it working?

Otherwise I am dreaming of some blinking lights on my Desktop... Would be a great Superkaramba Design. Preferably I could change the blinking mode (sequential, glow, all, random, etc).

Anybody has seen some indispensable KDE Christmas gadgets around?

    Thanks for your help.

The trick for getting xsnow working with KDE is:

    1. Right click on desktop, select "Configure desktop"
    2. Select the "Behaviour" icon from the list of icons on the left hand side.
    3. On the general tab, enable "Allow programs in desktop window"

    Merry Christmas!
