    Gaming in Kubuntu

I hope I am not opening a thread that is open someplace else in these forums. If so, my apologies, but...I am consumed with a need to get away from Windows completely. I want to leave Windows behind (where truth be told, it actually is) and use only (Kubuntu) Linux for printing, gaming, chatting working on my documents etc.

For Windows to become a thing of the past, with its daily security holes and oh-so-irritating commercialized user pop-ups, ads and traps, PEOPLE NEED TO BE ABLE TO RUN THEIR GAMES IN LINUX! There I said it.

If we get enough people working together, in one place offering their experiences as well as their problems...and with a little help and guidance from people like those with Cedega (which I am subscribed to) it seems that we can quickly get to that point where Windows is history and a chapter that I.....that we.... can close.

So far I have gotten two games to work under Kubuntu via Cedega, Red Alert and Steam (Team Fortress Classic); Call of Duty 2 (my favorite) according to Cedega "is on the list of games to be looked at and worked on".....great.

So, with the kind indulgence of my Kubuntu community brothers and sisters, and to get started,

    1) Does anyone have Linux gaming knowledge they can share?

    2) Are there Linux games and in particular Linux multiplayer games around?

    3) Are multiplayer Linux games under development that will look good enough and provide enough action and player interaction as to make the question of running Windows games a mute point?

Thanks in advance for your comments and your help.
