cad program

I repair clocks, build computers and use Linux.
I am looking for a cad program for Kubuntu, Blender sound good but I would appreciate suggestions.

There are lists of CAD programs here, here and here.

In general, most of the programs are useful for small jobs, but are ill-equipped for full scale projects with hundreds of drawings. Some can handle mechanical drawings but are not well suited to archtectural or electronic use. Others are good for two of the three. Of course, the major drawback is that they are not Autocad. If you have a contract that says something like "Drawings must be submitted in Autocad format.", you're stuck. Some programs say that their files are in Autocad format, but I wouldn't bet my house or reputation on it.
