It is perfectly legal, it is perfectly fine, in the U.S. and the world.. you do not need to pay to do the conversion, none of that.
It REALLY IS a situation of Microshaft placing a hinky script in what you may have been provided by your work or college etc.
But this has been SUCH a bugaboo for YEARS that i do not want to mess it up.
