    Kubuntu 24:10 mouse speed disabled

HI! I wasn't sure where to post this so i chose Catchall. I'm running Kubuntu 24:10 and i love it. However my mouse speed is giving me trouble, simply put it's WAY too fast. I tried going into system settings> Mouse & touchpad > mouse- System settings. I can see the slider bar for adjusting the speed but it's greyed out so i have no way of adjusting it. I do a bit of artwork so i need to slow it down substantially for accuracy.

    Any tips?

Update. I ran xin0put list and i got this

WARNING: running xinput against an Xwayland server. See the xinput man page for details.

I tried editing the nano ~/.config/kcminputrc file, i changed the value to 1.5, after which i rebooted but still no joy.
