Run that command so we can see what package apt says is upgradable, but isn't upgrading.

        before you sudo do-release-upgrade -m desktop .
        Debian KDE & LXQt • Kubuntu & Lubuntu • openSUSE KDE • Windows • macOS X
Desktop: Lenovo ThinkCentre M75s • Laptop: Apple MacBook Pro 13" • and others

get rid of Snap script (20.04 +)reinstall Snap for release-upgrade script (20.04 +)

              Grrr.

Are you in fact running 20.04 on the machine you are having this issue with, and for which you are posting here, in 22.04? Assuming 'yes', then grrrr.

Posting about an EOL version of Kubuntu in a supported forum (22.04) 'muddys the waters' and is simply bad form. EOL release forums in KFN are CLOSED for a reason. I should CLOSE this thread if you are in fact on 20.04. But, I'll just move it (this time) to Kubuntu Catchall.

                  Sorry
When I started this thread I thought I had upgrade this computer along with the other two in the house

Now when I do the Krunner thing it does start but it says it wants to upgrade to UBUNTU not KUBUNTU.
                    Does this matter?

it simply might not be possible to upgrade any longer.

....nope, my new 20.04 VM is actually prompting me to upgrade

Go to your Driver Manager in Systewm Settings, then go to the Updates tab and make sure that the settings look like mine, as the Black Kitten has mentioned:

what about upgrading TO a supported release, since this is what it is now
But I am well known for not caring about categorization

No, since the two are the same exact distro and OS.

                                Huzzah!

Info Center says I now have 22.04
I was able to do the upgrade to PixInsight without a hitch.
                                Many thanks for the help!
