    Plasma 5.12 showing 5.11.95?

After seeing https://kubuntu.org/news/plasma-5-12...artful-bionic/, I added the beta ppa to my VBox but KInfo is showing 5.11.95.
    Attached Files
    Kubuntu 20.04

Another thing I noticed with Discover, is that "Checking for updates" just remains that way even after it should be done. (I had just run a full upgrade in the terminal moments before.)

That is the correct version for a 5.12 beta. i.e. nearly 5.12, but not quite :P

If it keeps doing that, please check for existing bugs. If nothing matches, please report one.

If you wait a few seconds, the notification disappears, unless there are more updates. Sometimes there are two sets. Today I downloaded some 245 updates, and when it was supposedly over another six came down the line. What I think happens is that after installing the listed updates, it checks again to see if there are any more. That may take 10-20 seconds. If not, the notice disappears.

I have just updated to the KDE Plasma 5.12 Beta and the first change that I noticed is in the desktop images that I use. I have them scaled to keep proportions and fill the background image with a preset colour. With this update the preset colour is replaced by a defocused replica of the edge part of the image.

This is illustrated in the image below.

I have found that by using Configure Desktop to change the image background colour slightly it shows correctly. When I reboot it is back to the defocused background.

While this gives a different perspective to the image, I prefer the previous setting that I had.

Keep up the good work and I am sure this and other oddball behaviour will soon be fixed.

Wallpaper blur background filling effect feature - https://phabricator.kde.org/D7047
Add a checkbox to wallpaper configuration dialog. By checking this option, empty space surround image will be filled by blurred image rather than a color.
                and

Wallpaper: hide color or blur filling options for full filling mode - https://phabricator.kde.org/D8441
Make a new option called "Edge filling". Users can choose either "Blur image" or "Solid color". They are only visible when the image filling mode is "Center" or "Scale and keep ratio".

After several updates to KDE Plasma, which is now at 5.12.4, I still get with "Configure Desktop" a Wallpaper Background which is "Blur" when I have "Solid Colour" selected. I find this aspect particularly annoying.

I think that this would have to be the simplest problem to fix. I assume that the error is in the address referenced when the software writes the background colour. After all, I get a Solid colour when I just change the time by one second and select "Apply". Why can't t his be done correctly when the desktop Wallpaper is written in the first place?
