    USB write permissions

Using Kubuntu 6.0.6 when I plug in a USB memory stick it is recognised and I can drag and drop data from it but when I try to write to it I get a permissioning problem. In the properties for the memory stick icon I can change the permissions to 777 but still get same problem

You may need to be root (use sudo in a konsole), to change the permissions on the mount point, if it is owned by root.
