Edit Konqueror's "create new file" menu

Hi there!
i'd like to personalize Konqueror's "create new file" menu

i know that u can do it just by adding the template file (like this)
/usr/share/templates/.source/ImmagineGimp.xcf

then u must create and edit the configuration file (like this)
/usr/share/templates/ImmagineGimp.desktop

is there a program that does this for me?
if the answer is no, i'd like to try do develop this apllication by myself...can u give me links to good tutorials?

And I haven't run across one, but that doesn't mean there isn't one, since I haven't really looked for one...if you find a handy tool for it, let us know
