Grub menu minor problem..

I needed to refresh my copy of Kubuntu and noticed that the grub boot menu
on a dual boot machine did not highlite the menu selection when I moved the arrow keys.

I have checked /boot/grub/menu.lst and have the "colors" selection uncommented for cyan/white.(whatever the pretty default is)

With the refreshed copy of the usplash screens, the highlighted selection
never appears.

It must be 'blending' in with the colors, I am guessing.

What are the default colors for the menu.lst in kubuntu?

The easiest way to find out is to comment out the "color ..." line. The worst that can happen is that you'll start up in your default, "timeout" seconds later. But I'll bet that it's black and white.

The default colors (uncommented) are cyan/blue white/blue. That is how they appear on an unedited version of /boot/grub/menu.lst

Thanks for the help, guys.
Commenting out the colors did not fix problem.

Had to restore to an one day old copy of the menu.lst file.

Rebooted and the menu look and title highlights are all OK.

Not sure why the menu got hosed but it is fine now.
