I have a horrible laptop that doesn't behave normally with the USB CDROM.
The only ports available are PCMCIA, FireWire, and USB. It won't boot firewire or PCMCIA, so no luck there.
This would be fine except once the kernel image is loaded, Linux loses the CD(can't find it, and I have yet to figure how to tell it where to look.)
The only tolerable distro I can install is Knoppix, since I can copy the system directory to the drive using a regular PC, and use the fromhd=/dev/hdaX cheatcode.
I haven't found the equivalent for Kubuntu, but thats really all I need.
And no, floppy isn't available either. My boot options are USB and HD.
