Looks like it has a way to go yet. Installer keeps crashing. Well, it'll get there. Wonder if I can use grml/rescueboot to boot the iso? Have a free partition

I just tried an install on an HP 6 x AMD FX 6100 core processor with a DVD of the daily build burned as of this date.

The installer failed five times returning to the effect of: "did not get secure boot key"

From Ubuntu forums as of 2015-12-13

        Changed in ubuntu-cdimage:
status: Fix Committed → Fix Released
        https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-cdimage/+bug/1525393

so it would seem that the fix has not yet been incorporated into the Kubuntu daily build.

Darn! I just burned my last DVD!

if you use this link, you will automatically get the latest daily iso build:
          http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/kubuntu/daily-live/current/

zsync is a nice way to update the image without having to download the whole thing. Only the bits that have changed are downloaded, so it can be a very small amount.

Install the package zsync, then open a terminal to the directory with your current iso, then:
          zsync http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/kubuntu/daily-live/current/xenial-desktop-amd64.iso.zsync

Thanks my friend, I've never done that before so I'll try it!

So is 16.04 likely to be X or Wayland?

Going straight to install live then clikcing install 16.04 produce same result.

Strangely enough, the ubuntu 16.04 will install whereas the Kubuntu installer crashes

FYI The link provided by Snowhog (thanks), will now fail because only two daily-builds are available for download.

Use the next folder up and select the most current build:

                        http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/kubuntu/daily-live
Kubuntu 24.11 64bit under Kernel 6.11.0, Hp Pavilion, 6MB ram. Stay away from all things Google...

So, after installing to a free partition, seems to work for now. Is there an easy way to update to newest build, other than reinstall?
