    An "idiots guide" ?

It'd be great if there was a really basic idiots guide. I'm using 15.10 now (as I usually upgrade when the new versions are released - on the basis that they'll contain the latest and greatest, and are more likely to be idiot proof) - for some reason, 15.04 had stopped allowing me to check for new packages on the muon updater and when I would click the option to do the dist upgrade, it would get so far and then stop, so I ended up having to download and burn a DVD and install it (the 15.10) over the top.

This seems to have worked ok - well sort of. I "think" I might have found the solution as to why the main screen was taking a while to start up/open, then the task bar was taking even longer (not sure yet, as I've done (well I think I have) the disabling of the bluetooth suggested elsewhere).

But there's a number of other customisations I'd like to do, but the "usual" (that's relative i.e. usual how I'd normally do them - whether that's the correct way I don't know) ways don't see to work now (didn't under 15.04 either).

Stuff like the "K" button on the left which is fine, but all the other task bar entries are next to it (clock, volume, etc) and try as I might, I can't modify it so that they're on the far right side of the task bar (task bar ? is that the right term ? a nice pictorial glossary would be useful for nuggets like me to understand).......

Equally, if I click the K button, the panel that opens up to allow access to the various menu sections won't let me change the quick access bits - the only things I'd have use for is the browser and the file manager, it'd be great to get rid of the other parts but I don't know where to start (I was perfectly happy with the old stylie start menu, but they seem to have got rid of that and there seems to be no way of getting it back - so much for progress).

I'm thoroughly confused by all this "plasma stuff" and all it's plasmoids and so on. Is there somewhere that will show me what the different bits are called, then at least I could search for answers or solutions myself......

Any assistance in pointing me in the right direction would be brilliant........
