    shoutcast

Looking for a player with built in shoutcast search. I can seach and find what I want on shoutcast.com but that's not ideal. Saved some streams to a folder and use folder view widget to bring them up, but that's not ideal either. Winamp used to do it in windows, but haven't found the same functionality in Linux yet.

vlc I think may have this now, Amarok does via a script addon, iirc.

I dunno if this has been resolved or not, can't tell:

So if this has not been resolved (iirc AOL no longer owns shoutcast), it may be difficult for open source projects to include shoutcast support natively

I used it too. Has a nice linear layout, pretty easy to find whatever stream fits your mood. My son's hdd went out, so I got a new hard drive and had him install ubuntu studio. No windows. My guess is I'll get a lot of questions and he'll be searching and learning how to do things. He's 13, might as well learn

              sith and vinny

              DID NOT KNOW THAT!!!

I regularly put the ten minutes before class starts to provide for the students "alternative" music........

It USED TO BE THAT IN COLLEGE......it was about EXPLORING............not now............now.......it is about........following the line........this....or that......

the students have to check through the thicket......if it is science......that is ok.....if it is math.....that is ok......if it is ANY "soft" thing.......

they go to "rate my professor .com.........

              but.....yeah......vinny and sith...

              good on!
