[LAPTOP] Vaio Flip 15A randomly freezes

Hi all!

I was hoping someone could help me figure out why my laptop randomly freezes. I recently bought a Sony Vaio Flip and I installed Kubuntu 14.04 64bit on it. The Wi-Fi sometimes drops but other than that it seemed to be fine until it started to freeze.

I turned off UEFI on the laptop. I'm also using Nvidia drivers.

I would appreciate any help. Thank you!

I have the same problem. The workaround for me is CTRL-ALT-F1, followed by CTRL-ALT-F7.
I have not yet found a better solution..

Thank you! I did what you said and saved me for rebooting the laptop. I wonder if this is a problem with the graphic drivers.

try the open source drivers,

ive had a lot of issues with my Vaio and proprietary video drivers, X crashing, hibernation issues,
all fixed with open source drivers, good luck
