    [KDE] Knotes reliability

    Greetings!
I have 4 stickies on one desktop (of 4, in 14.04 amd64). All notes show up on reboot, properly positioned and sized, BUT Title (and associated content) mixed up. Titles also may not persist, restoring to assigned-on-creation Date-time.
    What gives here?

Mine are working fine here, I did have some trouble at first. If I recall I had to associate knotes with a new database in kjots or some such crazy thing. Do your notes show up properly in kjots?

This is not a real solution, but it helped me. I stopped using knotes some time ago, because it's really unworkable because of all the bugs. I replaced it with Xpad, which is working fine for me.

I have actually been using Globonote

I did get really excited when I goggled Xpad and found it here http://getxpad.com

Also not a solution, but I agree with Goeroeboeroe. I dumped Knotes, which I really, really liked, when it stopped storing notes in a plain text file and put them in the akonadi database.

Tried GloboNote, and found it not as convenient, not coming up on desktop on boot. Also needed considerable thought and work to get running from Kickoff, Icon image too fuzzy there too, even if OK in system tray.

Further work: Once working in Kickoff, added (as Program) to System Settings/Startup. Now comes up after reboot, all present and correct in Title, content, size and position, but in the Virtual Desktop selected on Shutdown. There doesn't seem to be a Preference to remember Desktop.

ahh, I had never needed/used that feature and I can not find anything about it either. If I restart with notes open they all end up on one desktop. Maybe this is problem with java apps or how kde interacts with the program, I will try to email the developer.

Good thinking! I hadn't considered notes on more than one desktop - Mine are all on one, as were the original Knotes. Per-note preference/memory-on-exit/shutdown would be good, with an option to default to a global pref?... This is looking like it could get complex.
                    Hopefully helpfully...
