            Well, it looks like I'm having an issue with my mobo, so I'll be buying a new one (hopefully) tomorrow.
            I do not personally use Kubuntu, but I'm the tech support for my daughter who does.

              I do want to make note of this system. All is good except it does utilize this method of "shared" graphics. The OS really did not detect the Intel one. When installing the NVidia driver all appears and reports OK except OpenGL would not work and so Desktop effects would not work. To rectify this I stumbled upon BumbleBee. I'm not too familiar with it yet, but OpenGL now works. If it is even using the NVidia driver I'm not sure. As I said I'm still figuring BumbleBee.
