    List your mobo

There are often questions about "the best mobo" for an install.

This is NOT supposed to be a "hardware compatibility list Kubuntu style".

But, it did occur to me that the simple listing of what a person's mobo is and the distro version would be of use to many people who want to either purchase a second hand computer or a new one.

Also...........if it is running for you..........then it would probably run for another person.

No need for "characterists, or opinions, etc". just

This is my mobo and this is the version.

    So, I'll go first:

AMD 64 dual core 4.2 ghz running Trusty Tahr.

And, if a moderator want's to remove this tread because stuff can be found elseshere, I hereby give permission to so do.

Gotta have 13.10 or above to find it in the repositories:
                        http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?ke...ll&section=all

                        Otherwise: http://code.google.com/p/inxi/wiki/Installation
See the "For most others" section.

                          Open a console:
                          Code:
                          cd /usr/local/bin && wget -Nc smxi.org/inxi && chmod +x inxi
Windows no longer obstructs my view.

I actually used what their web-site stated and then used QApt Package Installer. Either way works I guess.

                            Code:
                            wget ftp://cathbard.com/binary/inxi*.deb
