Kinda what it says, but to expand a little.
a) this is a way out in the weeds suggestion, BlueSystems, and Kubu devs have a lot more important things on their plate than a skin.
b) Amarok does not really "skin" very well, apparently, there are several comments on the net to that effect, just getting the spash screen to change, which is not "that" big a whoop appearance-wise is a getting into nuts and bolts thing.
c) But to the proposal.
How about just ONE skin, that is "1", that:
i) would keep the branding of Amarok of course, but also include, say, some kind of letters like "Kubuntu" in the top bar that would be muted and kewl.
ii) would be in a "colour" that would be associated with Kubuntu, kind of like the "blue".
iii) would either be in the repos for Kubu or would be provided as a tarbal that would:
I) automagically replace the default theme
II) come with some very specific instructions on renaming the file that presently existed in the KDE/Amarok/share folder, then untarring and moving to the appropriate folder.
III) the above, with appropriate warnings about how it might break the system and that to UNDO it one would have to reverse the process.
But, for the normal denizens of Kubu forums I think that would not be too hard a thing to do.
The real problems are:
A) getting the appropriate artwork
B) getting it packaged
So.....a way off in the weeds idea but something that might attract some more people to Kubu.
just a thought.
