    There's no <link> tag whatsoever.
I think I know what's causing that. I get the exact same HTML source if I go to kubuntuforums.COM instead of kubuntuforums.NET

Ah, that's it. Here's the full HTML for the .com page:

      Code:
      <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd"><html><head>

The .com page simply pulls the .net page in as a frame. Not the best way to handle it. We can fix this. Thanks for bringing it to our attention, wh0rd.

Snowhog: is it safe to assume you're using .com rather than .net, and if you switch to .net, does the site appear normal? Also, let's follow up in Admin chat.

No. I access the forum with .net
Windows no longer obstructs my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.

Please clear your browser cache and all KFN cookies, exit your browser, and then try the .net site.

No need. I have Chromium set to clear all cookies on closing and to treat all cookies as session cookies. I've never seen the kubuntu icon in Chromium when connecting to KFN.

Hm, your issue is something else, then. Your HTML appears fine, BTW.

                  Found the Chromium problem:

                  https://code.google.com/p/chromium/i...etail?id=85806

Chromium stores favicons in a SQLite database, not the browser cache. The issue above contains a number of reports about malfunctioning or out-of-date favicons. Creating a new user profile for Chromium appears to be the only real fix.

Well ain't that a fine how-do-you-do! I'm not going to create a new user just to see the favicon for KFN thank you very much.

Semi-related...We're still using the old kubuntu icon as a favicon, perhaps it could be updated?

Icon has been updated. You may need to clear your caches (I did).

No. The new favicon image is the same as the one shown on the Kubuntu|Friendly Comp... tab in your image.

                              Firefox shows the correct favicon.
Does rekonq 0.9.90 show the correct favicon for you/anyone?
I already emptied the cache several times.

Interesting. In Rekonq 0.9.2 here, it renders the same fuzzy blue 'plus sign' as you showed us.
