Liquorix kernel on Kubuntu?

First a little bit about the Liquorix:

Liquorix is a distro kernel replacement built using the best configuration and kernel sources for desktop, multimedia, and gaming workloads.

Has anyone tried using Liqourix kernel on Kubuntu? If so how did you install it, did you see any improvements?

I used that kernel when i was using Sid, and i hadn't have any problems, haven't try on (K)ubuntu.
This is infact a precompiled zen kernel + BFS and BFQ , with which i also experimented, i only regret i haven't saved my configs for that, cause i get nice results with , i think it was, 2.6.32 kernel...

As they say, your mileage may vary, on a ancient laptop, Celeron 1.3GHz + 512 and later 1GB RAM, i could certainly feel the difference between plain kernel and this one. On a better, Core 2 Duo + 4GB RAM, not that much.

If you already didn't try, i've uploaded latest liquorix kernel. But note that this is newer than Precise's kernel version, so if you use proprietary drivers, check first are they compatible with 3.4 kernels, i had to patch fglrx to get it working.

This terrific! Thanks for creating it.

I did run into the issue with Catalyst 2.4, AMD is supposedly releasing a fix on the next stable release, 2.5. I guess I'll wait until that.

Depending on what card you have, you might (my card fall into this category) not get new release:

Quantal got update with patches up to kernel 3.5, you can easily build it on Precise too:

I'm on the 6000 series, so I think I will be okay with the next release. Do you think jumping to the 2.6 beta will resolve the issue? I'm going to give the Quantal drivers a try.

By *issues* , do you mean compiling fglrx kernel modules on >= 3.4 kernels?
If yes, then you can either:
a) Apply the patch with 12.4 drivers
b) Recompile quantal drivers (which are also 12.4 drivers, but with patches already applied)

Yes, that's the bug I was referring to. The Quantal drivers work really well with your Liquorix repo. Thanks!
