It looks like I need to spend much more time searching and trying different themes and settings. I wish I could just use gtk tools in KDE to make gtk apps look like they look originally in Gnome. But there is no such thing, yet.

I found that qt4-qtconfig might be also useful. You can run it from Terminal by typing qtconfig. It changes the appearance of python apps.
One more question: where kde-gtk-config keeps installs gtk themes? Is it somewhere in home folder?
