Unable to install any software packages on Kubuntu 11.10

    Unable to install any software packages on Kubuntu 11.10

    I tried to play a video file in dragon player and it asked me for the codec i selected to install, it asked me password and at last displayed codecs installed message. Then tried to play the file again and again it ask me for codecs, i continued to try to install codecs but it won't. Then i tried to install Team Viewer from .deb package, it asked me password and displayed done. But nothing was done, it didn't get installed. Then i tried to install from software center and it was sicked to "waiting" as status. Then i find that i am unable to install any software. Please help.

    Open a terminal and issue the command:
    sudo apt-get install -f

    If it gives an error message, report back what it is (usually a file is locked, if so delete the locked file and rerun the command).

        Now from the command line enter:
        sudo apt-get update

        and when it finishes updating the packages
        sudo apt-get upgrade

        And it should upgrade those 389 packages it mentioned.
