I have to boot a Win7 VM to use Silverlight to view the textbook for my LINUX class!

This is kinda stupid; I'm taking a class that uses labsim, the class is for the Linux+ certification. The labsim software uses... Microsoft Silverlight 4! I even tried the devel version of Moonlight in Google Chrome, no luck. So, I had to install Win7 in VB, installed Safari and then Silverlight... No, I couldn't get it to work through WINE.

A customer service rep through labsim's live chat told me their working on a new version that will be independent of Silverlight- didn't give any details...

That's pretty darn ironic but not entirely surprising.

Perhaps you could inform Labsim that even Microsoft appears to be abandoning Silverlight. I went to Microsoft's //build event a while back; HTML 5 and JavaScript were everywhere, while Silverlight was nowhere to be seen.
