Graphics Tablets for Kubuntu?

I'm getting excited about digital art - open source software seems to be working well for me. But I'd like to get a graphics tablet. I can't find a single manufacturer that even mentions Linux.

Has anyone had any luck using a graphics tablet in Kubuntu?

I have a Wacom Bamboo - plug it in and it works, 11.10 and 12.04.

I had the small bamboo and it "would work" when I first bought it, but as of the last iteration of Ubuntu/Kubuntu it completely worked.

I would GREATLY recommend getting the largest device which one can afford.

The small one took too much "imagination", on my part, to get what I wanted on that small input screen to look the "same" on the monitor.
