For some reason an update in the last few days did something to Dragonplayer, and other players, that produces a green or blue hue to a video.
This does not, however, affect totem.
Either the update removed, or it was never included, but one should install
libxine1-all-plugins
you can do it through synaptic or apt-get.
It will require at least one restart to work its way through the system.
