How to get .wmf files to preview?

I have some discs containing images that are WMF (Windows Metafile Format) files. I've installed everything libwmf-related, and I can open and manipulate the images in Inkscape without issue.

But when I'm browsing the files, deciding which one I want to open, they're not displaying previews, so it's just a crap-shoot as to which one I choose. (They have cryptic names that do not in any way describe their content.)

I'd like to see previews in Dolphin, GwenView, etc., as well, but I'm not seeing any way to add them to the preview types, nor would adding them to "File Associations" help because I don't want to OPEN them, I want to PREVIEW them.

Any ideas?

The previews are thumbnail pictures. The KDE need a thumbnailer to make and show the WMF thumbnails. KDE-apps: http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php...content=141852

Thanks for the speedy reply, OneLine. Okay, I installed it and I now have "Windows MetaFile" in Dolphin's list of preview types, which I checked and applied. But...no previews. I don't know if there's something else I need to do, but it's not working despite adding WMF to Dolphin's choices.

It could be:

• the kde-apps plugin is not working ?
• the libwmf is not working ?
• the KDE is working ?
• it is a bad hair day

Compiling and trying to launch the thumbnailing from the konsole /1/. The KDE is showing an internal error message.

Well, I just don't know. I really have no clue what to check at this point because everything [I think] should be installed is installed. When I saw that Dolphin had added the WMF type to its preview list, I thought that was that...but it wasn't.
