Help getting nav bar on xara extreme please?

Hi all, just a bug which has me bugged :P
not sure if anyone can help out to resolve this?
I use xara on a daily basis and just installed the new Kubuntu release on my pc. The issue is there is no nav-bar when I run xara (file / edit / view) etc.
I was using Linux Mint 10 prior and using xara there had it, but not Kubuntu? Just wondering if Im missing something or how I can get the nav bar to appear? I even went to the Linux Mint software portal and installed through there and same issue, just weird haha
But, if anyone might be able to assist me with this, it would be greatly appreciated, thank you

Do you mean menu bar (file, edit, arrange, utilities, window, help)?

The Xara nav bar was taken out a couple years ago. Now, nav bars refer to those created in xara xtreme and added to web pages: http://site.xara.com/support/xtreme/hints/navbars.asp

      Thank you
Yes, correct only when I use xara on other setups like Mint kde4 or even recently Bodhi, the "file edt help" etc bar is there and they each use Ubuntus diriv of xara so I cant figure out why its not the same on ubuntu or kubuntu?
it's seems strange and that bar is a vital necc. part of the app to open new projects and undu steps etc
It honestly is very much needed and as I said even though both the distros I mention have it and they both use Ubuntus version.. it is not present on either Ubuntu or Kubuntu :-/

sorry, just realized the link you added is actually an old tutorial on how to make nav buttons using xara. I am talking about the actual nav buttons on the window when you're using xara :P Im sorry I did not make myself more clear, and correct that feature was removed from the xara software itself a while back

Confirmed same problem here on oneiric - no window menu bar (file, edit, help).
The "File" menu can be brought up with F10.
CTRL-M is supposed to be the "show menu bar" shortcut, but it does nothing in xaralx. Strange.

Re: Help getting nav bar on xara extreme please?

it helps some whats cool is if you use the F10 method and easily bounce the cursor about that top area it switches to each menu i.e. file, edit, view, help etc so that def helps for now till a solution can be found. maybe it needs to be looked at and repackaged?
Thank you both for the responses

the standard Alt-F , etc works fine too, but doctordruidphd do you also have the same issue of the slider-funtion tabs not being visible as well, like for the feathering tool?

I'm not sure how to get to the feathering tool, but for the ones with icons on the left side, those that do have slide bars display their sliders, and they do seem to work. I'm not all that familiar with how to use xaralx, but other than the menu bar, it seems to work OK.
