The vast majority of sotware in Linux, including Ubuntu/Kubuntu, would be considered "full version." The only piece of Linux software that I know of that requires payment to unlock the "full version," (in this case, 56k connectivity,) would be the modem drivers from Linuxant. There's probably other software but right now, I can't think of any.
Open a package manager and see what's to choose from.
