    FF4.0.x still a mem hog

I just had a look at my FF mem usage after a very long session and htop tells me FF4.0.x is using over 200MB of RAM.

Chrome is using 10MB after the same period and load.

I wish mozilla would finally get this sorted, as I still prefer FF over chrome.

Anyone else see the same behavior?

Yes, with 4 windows/tabs open my FF4 is using 130 Mb, which is registered as 20% of CPU usage max.

But, you know, I have a lot of plugins running, too (NoScript, AdBlock Plus, RefreshBlocker, VideoDownloadHelper, Shockwave Flash, Skype buttons for Kopete, Silverlight plugin, and others).

Does Chrome have the same plugins?

Perhaps it is the add-ons that accumulate the memory usage?

10 mb how did you get this number? Here's the easy and proper way to measure/compare the memory usage. Open firefox then launch chrome, type about:memory into the location bar:

10 mb Huh how did you get this number?
        In terminal:
        Code:
        htop
if you don't have it install it with:
        Code:
        sudo apt-get install htop
        and in system monitor:
        ctrl+esc

@perspectoff : good point. FF4.0.x has a lot of add-ons, so I have to add some add-ons to chrome

Edit: I added some add-ons and opened a few tabs.
RAM usage is about the same but I see cpu usage with chromium almost double that of FF. Hm........
