2 soundcards an .. no sound?

Hi!
I've got a mysterious problem: I am having 2 soundcards in my pc, vlc, smplayer and dragon player (ofc) installed.
Now I am experiencing quite a strange thing:
vlc + video = no sound
vlc + music = sound
smplayer + video = no sound
smplayer + sound = not tested
dragonplayer + video = sound
why does vlc have no sound output while playing videos but with music it's ok? I rlly don't get it.

BTW: Not sitting at my pc atm. So no lpci, sorry

your mixer settings are wrong. check for and turn up your pcm volume in the mixer, if you have further questions take a look at the 100 other posts about audio issues, most of them are from this volume being turned down or very low.
