Another distro upgrade question

Hi,
I have another question about upgrading to a new release of kubuntu. It was suggested that instead of the normal upgrade it is nice to use a dual boot method instead. One working distro while setting up the other. This sounds good but.....If I back up my home partition from the working distro and load it into my new one will I still have to reinstall the programs that I have installed in wine. Reinstalling WOW every 6 months seems ehhhh yuck. :P

the drive_c folder for wine is stored in your home folder you will only have to instlal wine again if you copy your home folder . (its in /home/<usrname>/.wine/)

Thank you for answering. This was prob a dumb question but I just want to make sure I get this right.
