How to find and control Flash

I notice that Flash comes and goes. Often I close a flash player and it just keeps on playing. The only way to stop it is to close the browser. Also if the flash provided volume control disappears, then there is volume control other than the sound system mixer. That, of course is the wrong way to do it because that controls all output and not just that individual source. This whole Flash program thing seems extremely amateurish to me.

    On another thread, Detonate said:
Flash does have a problem sometimes with not closing the process after you have used it. And it does use a lot of processor resources. It shows up in the process listing as npviewer.bin.
That, at least tells me that I am not alone in not being able to control Flash. However, there is no npviewer.bin in my process table.

    Where is Flash?

I know this. I only have the problems with 32 bit flash. Running in a 32 or 64 bit environment. I don't seem to have the problems currently with 64 bit flash in a 64 bit environment.
