What is "Kubuntu Users" in Launchpad?

It took me a while to find it.

It says that "Kubuntu Users" currently has 2014 "active members" and it is open to join.

Is anyone here an active member? What does it do? Does it have any benefits?

It doesn't have much real use, iirc. Just basically a Kubuntu fan group if you will. I can't remember why it was started all those years ago (2006!!) I do think it has been superseded by the official kubuntu team's group in terms of launchpad and its tools and features (ppa's, bzr repos, bug assignments, etc)
