Just wondering what the people here consider their favorite OSs (after Kubuntu, of course).

Re: Favorite OS?
From the little testing I've done with SUSE, it seems to be a cool OS. I was using alpha KDE4 at the time so I won't fault it for that but nowadays its a nice implementation of KDEHome: Kubuntu 12.04-amd64; Intel i7-860 on Intel DH55PJ; Nvidia 9500GT; 6GB RAM
Network Slave: Xubuntu 11.10-x86; Intel P4-Prescott on MSI; 2GB RAM; Nvidia FX5200
Portable: Xubuntu 11.10-amd64; Asus EeePC 1015PEM

Re: Favorite OS?
ArchLinux
EDIT:
LMDE or the rolling release LinuxMint based on Debian is also cool as indeed is aptosid, another rolling release distro as mentioned by Snowhog below.Once your problem is solved please mark the topic of the first post as SOLVED so others know and can benefit from your experience! / FAQ

Re: Favorite OS?
IF I could not use Kubuntu, and I was still given a choice of a KDE distro, I'd likely go with aptosid (used to be sidux), which I have used before.Windows no longer obstructs my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.

Re: Favorite OS?
Well, that depends on your definition of OS. While all the distros are part of "Linux OS" in the sense that they are powered by the Linux kernel and use open-source software; in this case, however, I am referring to each distro as a separate OS due to the differences in GUI, software management, overall user experience, etc.

Re: Favorite OS?
I use DOS and BSD as well as Linux, so I wouldn't miss Kubuntu too much. I suppose that my next Linux choice would be Debian, which I use on occasion, but that's just because I'm somewhat familiar with it. If I wasn't so conservative I'd probably pick a fight with Minix3 which is starting to look pretty good.
I must say though that I'm surprised at some of the omissions from the list. XP is still going strong these days, and there are a lot of dedicated Linux users who swear by DSL or Puppy. Also, surely there are some users of one of the oldest and arguably the most stable and well written OS - QNX - which has a nice desktop now and obviously has come a long way since the famous single floppy, although I suspect that's still possible. I'm with Tanenbaum on the microkernel-macrokernel debate.

Re: Favorite OS?
I apologize for the omissions, but there are just so many... I felt that the list was a little long already, and since this is a forum for Linux users I felt it was only necessary to include one Windows version. I did, at least, include "other" buttons, and I encourage anyone who uses them to post what OS they would use and why.

I too am curious about why, and especially why not, people make their choices. I originally went with Kubuntu because I felt there was a lot of support. Now that I'm more familiar with Linux in general, it doesn't really matter much. Though I suppose the familiarity of the packaging system and general setup would make distros like Mint or Debian a better choice that some. In the end I think it generally comes down to familiarity and how much energy one wants to spend.

Re: Favorite OS?
I like MacOS X, but I might choose LMDE (As long aas could install KDE) or Fedora
Might ConsiderSimplyMEPIS (although their install is lacking the ability to purt / and /home on separate disks)
