I hope someone(s) can recommend a music/video player for listening to podcasts downloaded to Kubuntu.
I am looking for a relatively small audio/video player to replace my Samsung YP-U3 which has never really worked well the way I wanted with Kubuntu and before with Ubuntu.
YP-U3 is MTP formatted, and that may be a key part of the problem. I can kind of get it to work with Amarok but never with Qlix or Dolphin.
I mainly download podcasts and like to just move them and delete them (when finished listening) in groups as is possible in WinXP. I would like to move on from XP if I can get around the problems I have had in Linux up to now with my YP-U3.
A new device, if it is compatible, may be my best option. Perhaps something that is not MTP formatted. It would be great if the Linux support is official from the manufacturer as well as OGG support. Either new or obsolete but still available via eBay, etc. devices would be fine.
I stuck with MTP because I don't want to give up the FM radio built in to the YP-U3, so ideally the new device has FM radio but it is not essential since the YP-U3 is so tiny I could keep it for that.
Video file playback ability would be nice....
Here is a post from last December when I had reached a point of profound frustration with Qlix:
