    New graphics application

    Pinta

Billed as a simpler replacement for GIMP.

    The code tells the story:

    Code:
    greenman@Wolfenstein:~/Downloads$ sudo dpkg -i pinta-0.1.deb
    [sudo] password for greenman:
    Selecting previously deselected package pinta.
(Reading database ... 590145 files and directories currently installed.)
    Unpacking pinta (from pinta-0.1.deb) ...
    Setting up pinta (0.1-20100130.214539) ...
    Processing triggers for desktop-file-utils ...
    greenman@Wolfenstein:~/Downloads$ pinta
    exec: 4: mono: not found
    greenman@Wolfenstein:~/Downloads$ sudo dpkg -r pinta
(Reading database ... 590156 files and directories currently installed.)

The gimp needs no simpler substitute, if a simple hillbilly like me can use it!

If someone is really stumped by gimp, there's always showfoto (part of digikam).

            That'll get GreyGeeks goat!

Gimp is way easier to use than PhotoShop, IMHO. Gimp is great.

I used Photoshop for years before I had the Microsoft implants removed. GIMP is about as close as you can come, and it rocks. It takes getting used to, but it does work well IMO.
