even MORE impressed by Kubuntu KK 9.10

I just upgraded to the 2.6.31-17-generic kernel. What has made this such a magically experience this time is the fact that it found and update the nvidia drivers for the kernel, updated the virtual-box so it knew what to do with the new kernel. After booting to it, everything is up and running without a hitch.

This is a LONG way away from Solaris Dependency Hell that I've dealt with in the past!!

I hope Kubuntu gains more and more ground with formalization of items under Project Timelord. It is a killer setup!!

I don't think that has anything to do with the kernel update. What you are describing is the normal behavior if you have dkms installed.

yeah, I remember some things about dkms.

      What is it?

      I'm still impressed, though!!
