Memory Stick now incompatable with windows

Hello Everyone.
This is my first post here so sorry if I'm placing it in the wrong section of the forums.
Ok, heres my problem. I tried installing a version of kubuntu which came free with PC World magazine to my 8GB Sandisk cruzer memory stick. It went on fine, and even runs and boots fine.
My problem is, It's no longer detectable by windows. I think that kubuntu formatted my memory stick to a format incompatible with windows. I tried getting help on the suppliers official forums and they suggested that i try to format it from within kubuntu.
Now running from the live CD option, its detected my memory stick and runs it fine, but i don't know how to get it to format my memory stick.
Can anyone help me please? The disks label says Kubuntu 8.20 i386

So you successfully installed Kubuntu to the memory stick, and you can boot into Kubuntu from that memory stick. Okay. Windows won't see it because it's a linux format - ext3 or ext4 dependeing. Why do you want to format this memory stick? Do you want Kubuntu removed off of it?

I want my memory stick to work with windows again. I no longer need a portable operating system. Does kubuntu support formatting to FAT or NTFS?
And if so, how do i do it?

You say you are using a LiveCD. Do you have Windows? Would HP USB Disk Storage Format not work?

Yes, im on windows. I tried several programs, including a few on the ultimate boot disk ( http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/ ) but i just cant seem to get them to work. Right now my desktop PC is running the live disk, while my netbook is connected to the internet foruming. Unfortunately, that PC cannot connect to the internet.
How do i get kubuntu to use the program when its out of the compressed archive?

I always use GParted Live CD to partition/format flash drives.
It handles (almost) all formats.
See the left side-bar, "Features" for what it will do.
Just be sure you select the correct drive to format!!! That is, when you are in GParted Live CD working, make sure you correctly identify the correct (flash) drive!
If you open a Terminal in GParted Live CD (double-click Terminal icon at top of GParted screen), and then do
fdisk -lu
you'll see how your drives are seen by Gparted.
(or sudo fdisk -lu)
