Why not include the software Center in 9.10?

    Howdy All,

So I've been using *ubuntu for the last three years or so and since the initial disaster of a release KDE 4.0 was I've been using Gnome. However with the release of 9.10 I am back to using Kubuntu again.

Anyways something I was wondering is why the software center is not included by default in Kubuntu? It is one of the most excellent leaps forward in the Ubuntu 9.10 release - and while the kpackagemanager is nice, for the average user the the software center is much more friendly to use. It was no big deal for myself to install the software center, but a new user who starts off on Kubuntu would have no idea it exists. I was wondering what the rational behind not including it in Kubuntu was.

    Just my 2 pence,
    ~Jeff

Just a nuub here, but I was looking at official documentation for 9.10... and for installing an application is says "Click Applications -> Ubuntu Software Center."

It gives "other methods of installing applications"..."Click System -> Administration -> Synaptic Package Manager" I can't see administration?

I upgraded from 9.04 to 9.10 and I can't see these. I do have the following Applications -> system -> KPackageKit.

If you want to install Synaptic Package Manager, open a console and type:
      Code:
      sudo update
      sudo install synaptic
When finished, close the console. You will find Synaptic in:
      K > Applications > System > Synaptic
Windows no longer obstructs my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.

Why not include the software Center in 9.10?
            > Ubuntu Software Center:
Ubuntu Software Center (previously called Ubuntu Software Store, originally codenamed AppCenter) is a computer program which is a GTK+ graphical user interface front-end to the Advanced Packaging Tool for the Debian package management system....
The Kubuntu is (tries to be) a KDE/Qt version of the 'buntu.

So if you have time to write a Qt graphical user interface front-end to the Advanced Packaging Tool for the Debian package management system we all will be your friends .
