Use KDE theme with skype

I never heard this before, but to use the native KDE theme for skype, simply open with as

skype --disable-cleanlooks

Woohoo... my buttons now glow in all their Oxygen goooooeiness.

Question: Doesn't skype use qt4? It doesn't look like my KDE desktop.

There's a default cleanlooks theme used in skype. To make it look like your distro's style dictates use --disable-cleanlooks command line option.

I just triple-checked that I didn't have a typo or anything in that code in the first post, and it worked just fine for me on 9.10 (Karmic).

Probably because this post is over three and a half years old, the information is likely outdated.

No, there are some themes you can choose in Skype's settings, the default called "Desktop Settings" is probably the closest to a KDE/Qt look you will get.
