    Karmic HAL bug

If anyone else likes the bleeding edge, you may notice that your system won't boot after update today.

Boot into recovery mode with networking and download Jaunty's libdbus to work around the issue until a new package is pushed out, as per this thread over at ubuntuforums:

    http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...=1#post7260719
Specs:  Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (@3Ghz), G.SKILL 4GB DDR2 1066, ASUS Striker II Formula MB, Asus EN9800GTX+ Dark Knight, ABS Tagan BZ800 PS, Antec 900 Case.

    Thank you of the warning

    From the > [ubuntu/karmic] dbus 1.2.14-2ubuntu5 (Accepted)
    debian/patches/50-timeout-11_tests.patch: Remove the bit about
.gitignore. My life would be so much easier if the bzr developers
were killed in a freak unit testing accident

      Re: Karmic HAL bug

Seems to be fixed as of today; just upgraded a jaunty installation and all (except nvidia) seems well. Of course that doesn't mean all IS well . . .
