    Moving from openSUSE 11.1

I have decided to start using Kubuntu 9.04. I have used Ubuntu in the past for a good while. I just want to ask one question: How can i transfer all my settings from firefox (e.g saved passwords, bookmarks (i know how to do this one) etc) to my new Kubuntu installation?

    Welcome to the party
    Moving FF settings?

Just save / backup your ~/.mozilla file to a safe place. and copy over when you are finished installing Kubuntu 9.04 (JJ).

    Install firefox and open it.
You should have your settings there, unless suse treats FF differently.

    Hope that helps

I use xmarks (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2410). Keeps my bookmarks/passwords in sync between different computers and also allows me to recover to new copies of firefox. Very useful.

Here's another vote for Xmarks. I've been a happy user for years. It's also the best way to synchronize bookmarks between computers (e.g. desktop & laptop).

Did you find openSuse as awful as I did? Anyway, like Fintan I usually just save my FF folder and then copy it over.
