I was doing system re-install and I copied all files to external HDD (with Windows system file). After returning them to home/ few files were inaccessible, so I changed everything in home/ folder for me (my user account) to be rwx. Is this errrrrr... smart? I am quite bad with file permissions, and I'm not sure if I didn't gave too much access to my home/ folder.

well the items in your home folder would normaly be rwx for your user account, they normally are not readable by other usersMark Your Solved Issues [SOLVED]

Usually, only directories and executables are rwx, normal files just rw- (not executable).
It is not really a security concern, though.Comment
