Writing a book on computing esp. around Kubuntu

I've noticed that most people in their teens and twenties know less about
    technology than older people expect.
Most knowledge in this age bracket is on web browsing and text messaging.

With this in mind I intend on writing a book on Linux for students with KUbuntu as the
    main example.
I can't say that I have a great love for the *untus for my own use (too many safety nets
for my liking) but as an example of how to get purely user space tasks done
with no pain KUbuntu does fit the role nicely.

Would anyone have a request or recommendation for such a book?

I suggest you research this very carefully. The tech book market has changed dramatically, and computer books are WAY down. Study O'Reilly's offerings. And before you write even one word, get a publisher/editor. Actually, FIRST (after doing your research), work up your prospectus, then contact publishers and pick one partly on the basis of their success marketing (i.e., SELLING) their computer/software list.

    Options:

    > Write a free on-line book.
    > Write a not-free on-line, electronic book (google that for your research).
    > For self publishing, contact Dan Poynter (google/call him in CA USA).
