bios failure

This isn't really a Kubuntu issue it's more of an bios issue. I had Kubuntu installed on my old computer, since I didn't need it and I wanted to learn something about linux. Afterward though I stopped using that computer I was just too busy to switch keyboards and monitor and stuff. So one day I open the computer case and pull everything out, then put everything back. I'm sure I put everything back in the right place, but when I start the comp, it says boot failure. system halted. I try going to the boot menu but it won't recognize any hard drive or CD drive.

Anyone have any ideas.

it sounds like either a bad ide cable or bad hardware. But you might check the jumper settings on both the cdrom and the hard drive. Ive seen that before and it is usually caused by either bad jumper settings or a bad ide device. Maybe try running the hard drive by itself on the ide cable and see what happens. Also if you have the ide cable the wrong way it will cause the same issue.
