Creative X-Fi vs Linux

Hi I am looking for parts to put in a new computer. I wonder if Creative X-Fi is supported by linux drivers. I am not an opensource fundamentalist and will accept binary drivers if they do the job well

Which other soundcards would be worth considering for a high-end gaming/digital media/entertainement computer?
